But, I wonder that really all that thousands of search engines, are used by net surfers to find and product, service or information. Obliviously, answer will be no because as per survey experts came to know that maximum traffic comes only from Major Search Engines. So, Don’t worry about thousands of search engines which are feeded by major search engines and directories.

Most of them use automatic search engine submission software or tools for bulk submission to all search engines and web directories. But, that can result in getting your website penalized by some search engines, especially google. While, web directories are even more critical because directory editors for accuracy will review all submissions. I don’t know how far this automatic tools going to submit to correct category and if that is not done properly then your site will not be included in their directory.

Generally, there is no need of submitting your website again and again to major search engines, because the spiders visit your website on certain intervals after indexing your site. It is advisable to submit to Major Web Directories first then to search engines.
